SHARKS ONCE AGAIN VICTIMS

Jun 18, 2009
MORE THAN A TONNE OF COCAINE
HIDDEN INSIDE THE CARCASSES OF FROZEN SHARKS

PROGRESO, México (AFP) At least two tons of cocaine, hidden in a shark shipment was found in two frozen containers proceeding from Costa Rica aboard the Dover Strait, operated by Maerks Sealand, one of the world’s largest freight companies. The drug was found inside more than 80 frozen sharks in Yucatan, Mexico.
Before arriving in Yucatán, proceeding from Guatemala on Thursday, the Dover Strait was in Puerto Cortés, Honduras; but the frozen containers originated in Puerto Limón, Costa Rica, a country known as a shark supplier. A Mexican entrepreneur is presumed to have imported the 40 ton shark shipment. The shipment arrived in two frozen containers, each containing approximately two hundred 100-kilogram shark carcasses.
97 sharks were filled with a total of 870 packages of cocaine and placed in the containers, with Progreso, Yucatán as destination. X-ray machines and sniffer dogs helped to uncover the haul. The port authorities called their navy and federal counterparts immediately. All communication lines and phone calls were immediately suspended, and employees were denied the use of cell phones until after the inspection concluded.

WHAT DO THE VEDIC TEACHINGS TELL US?

Because demoniac people want to be cheated, so many cheaters are present to cheat them. At the present moment in this age of Kali-yuga, the entire human society has become an assembly of cheaters and cheated.

"The Srimad Bhagavatam - Purport in Canto 4 - Chapter 26 - Verse 6"

Generally we experience that people are primarily interested in seeing Krishna, but why is the emphasis on seeing? Let us hear about Him. We must come with a little faith, and as we hear, that faith will increase. One should come to the temple, listen to talks about Krishna, and then, after some time, officially take initiation into the service of the Lord. That is called bhajana-kriyā. At that time one has to abandon illicit sex, intoxication, meat-eating and gambling. If one is still attached to all these habits, he should know that he is not making progress. When one is actually advanced in bhajana-kriyā, all these anarthas (unwanted things) will be finished. param drishtvā nivartate. When one appreciates something better, he rejects all kinds of nonsense. Once one gets a taste of Krishna consciousness, he cannot remain without it. A drunkard cannot remain without a drink, but a devotee is drunk with Krishna consciousness. The immunization against all material diseases is this Krishna consciousness. To be immuned to the infection of the gunas, we have to engage in bhakti-yoga. Once we attain the perfectional stage, we attain ecstatic love of Godhead. In that state we cannot remain without Krishna for a moment. That is called bhāva, and that bhāva may increase to mahā-bhāva. This is not possible for ordinary human beings, but it was possible for the gopīs and Rādhārānī. Indeed, they could not live without Krishna. This is the highest stage of liberation.
